Gandhi Mandela Prize 2022
The 14th Dalai Lama was conferred on Gandhi Mandela Prize 2022 at Thekchen Choeling in the McleodGanj of Dharamshala by the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The Tibetan spiritual leader, receiving the Peace Prize from the New Delhi-based Gandhi Mandela Foundation. A trust registered by the Government of India, the Gandhi Mandela Foundation is a non-profit organization, established to promote the values of non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi and former South African President Nelson Mandela. The Tibetan spiritual leader is the recipient of the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize. “The Dalai Lama developed his philosophy of peace from a great reverence for all living things and from the concept of universal responsibility encompassing all of humanity as well as nature,” the Nobel website says.
